A man who died after the vehicle he was travelling in plunged into the Rewa River at Kasavu, outside Nausori, was cremated in an emotional ceremony yesterday.

Family members stopped a Fiji Sun team from taking pictures at Raralevu Cemetery during the cremation.

More than 300 people joined family members, friends and colleagues to bid Kausal Singh farewell.

Mr Singh was retrieved from the Rewa River on Tuesday after the incident between 4am and 5am the same day.

He was a graduate electrician and worked with Goodman Fielder for more than a year.

The driver of the vehicle, Monish Sami, 21, was found dead on Thursday near the Waila Treatment Plant in Waila, Nausori around midday.

A fisherman found Mr Sami dead, floating in the Rewa River, and alerted the Police.

Final rites for Mr Sami will be held today.
