Negative comments from the public fired up the Queen Victoria School Under-18 rugby team to strive for better results.

The boys from Matavatucou thumped Seaqaqa Central College 55-0 at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Saturday to secure their spot in the Powerade Rugby Deans Trophy quarterfinals this Saturday where they are likely to face Marist Brothers High School.

Coach Jo Savou commended the old boys for their constant support throughout.

“Negative comments helped the boys to regroup and come back stronger,” Savou said.

“Discipline and getting the attitude right is what we need and we want to win the Deans Trophy competition.

“We will take the win and focus on the quarterfinal.”
