Vuniwaqa Tells Kids Why Education is Vital

Young children were remind­ed yesterday about the im­portance of having a proper education because it can prepare them for a successful future.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa was chief guest at the Early Childhood Centre at Vunisei Village as the country celebrated the weeklong Early Childhood Edu­cation Week.

“Education is a key factor in the welfare of children. In addition, it has a large effect on a country’s economy and the overall health of all its citizens,” Ms Vuniwaqa said.

“Education goes a long way, and investing in education is one of the most important ways with which we can improve our world.”

Elswhere, the Minister for Indus­try, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Faiyaz Koya, was at Krishna Vedic Kindergarten School in Nausori to officiate the event.

Also, the Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Al­leviation, Veena Bhatnagar, offici­ated at the inaugural Early Child­hood Education (ECE) celebrations at the Nadi Centre for Special Edu­cation.
