Treasured possession ... a Fijian rugby fan walked away with an autographed rugby boot from All Blacks 7s player Tim Mikkelson after the World Cup Sevens final in San Francisco.

A boot to treasure

Although the Fiji Airways Sevens team failed to win the prize in the Rugby World Cup Sevens, a young Fijian boy (pictured) went home happy.

He was proudly showing off an autographed  rugby boot that belonged to Tim Mikkelson, a member of the victorious New Zealand team. Mikkelson gave it to him after the Cup final because the Fijian went up to him and shook his hand.

Student’s priority

Rugby was top priority for a student in the West on Monday.

He was late to school watching the Fiji Airways Sevens team lose to New Zealand in the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco.

It was 10.45am when he signed the form for being late. He was honest about his reason saying he was so p….d (disappointed) that he arrived late.

No trust

A chief and his delegation recently went to see senior Government officials. They were alleged to have requested the approval to set up a trust to look after the money received from sale of some properties.

But the alleged request was shot down because it was against everything this Government stands for.
