Moana awaits another wave

So Princess Moana is ceasing operations in the Northern Division. In a Facebook post yesterday, the Miller Shipping-owned vessel is looking for a more viable route in Fiji.

There were high hopes for the Indonesian-built vessel that had only begun services in December last year.

But we take it Princess Moana is no match for the already huge presence of the Patterson Brothers Shipping and Goundar Shipping’s services. For now, its projected “wave of assurance” has set sail as owners await another viable route.

Detonation near us embassy, with Fiji embassy nearby

A suspected fireworks-like device detonated near the US Embassy in Beijing yesterday.

The Fijian Embassy is understood to be located nearby. All Fijians are safe.

China Daily reported that a man, surnamed Jiang, detonated a suspected fireworks-like device near the US embassy at the junction of Tianze Road and Anjialou Road in Chaoyang district in Beijing at around 1pm on Thursday, according to Beijing Police.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said the incident was an isolated one.

China Daily reported that the US embassy in a statement said that no other person was injured other than the bomber and there was no damage to embassy property.

The statement said there was an explosion at about 1pm on Thursday on the street outside the South East corner of the embassy compound. There was one individual who detonated a bomb.

The Police immediately responded to the incident, it added.
