Nando’s Fiji Laucala Restaurant To Undergo $2.5M Refurbishment

The Nando’s Fiji Laucala res­taurant is scheduled to un­dergo a major refurbishment at the end of September this year.

Tachyon Investment Limited Di­rector Rajesh Patel confirmed the investment will be around $2.5 mil­lion.

Mr Patel said: “This is a state of art restaurant, one of the best and the first for the South Pacific simi­lar to the Nadi store.

“It is about the concept of the franchise we have to adapt to and Nando’s Laucala which will start at the end of September. Business will be normal but we will do it phase- wise.”

Mr Patel said Nando’s is planning a major expansion in Fiji and the region

Its owners, Tachyon Investment Limited owns the franchise in the South Pacific and Fiji.

The Franchise is expected to open seven more outlets nationwide with an expected a strong visibility in the South Pacific region.

“We will see the Nadi store opera­tion on how profitable and we have been asked on when we will open in Denarau but we will have to see how we can manage the load,” Mr Patel said.

“We are also looking at opening one at Nakasi; we are looking at Lautoka and also one in Labasa.

“In total we are looking at seven restaurants then looking at ventur­ing out to the South Pacific in Sa­moa, Tonga, American Samoa, and Vanuatu.

“We are happy with the current Government’s policy which is in­vestment friendly and we are here to grow the economy of this coun­try.

“The more we grow the more jobs will be created and will grow the economy of this country as well.”

Meanwhile, Nando’s Fiji returned to the heart of Nadi with a new state of art restaurant worth $2 mil­lion and opened its door for busi­ness on July 25.

Nando’s is an international casual dining restaurant chain originat­ing in South Africa.

Founded in 1987; Nando’s operates about 1,000 outlets in 30 countries.

Nando’s specialises in Mozam­bican-Portuguese style chicken dishes with various Peri-Peri mari­nades.
