Defending champions JK Builders Nadi football team were held scoreless by Rewa during the RC Manubhai/APCO Coating Veterans International Tournament 2018 at the Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.

The Green Machines laced with Watisoni Voli, Maika Waqa, Thomas Robert and Maika Kasami while Rewa had the services of Azmat Begg, and Patrick Wise.

Coach Lambert Sarju said, “It has been long since we played together again. We could not say we did not have our chances but we not making the right decision when it matters. Maybe it was not our day but we still another game and we need to step up.”

In the first match, Tavua Masters hammered Lautoka Veterans 3-1 with goals scored by Lisala Bonatoba, Valerio Nasema Irinale Saqasorovai while Mark Rokobuli scored for the capital city side.

In the second match, the Suva Masters edged the Henry Dyer’s NZ Labasa 1-0. The capital city had the services Radike Nawalu, Inosi Cava, and William Lasaqa.

Ba Legends with the services of Iosefo Vosaboto, Jope Naquruwati, Shiu Sami, Arjun Pillay were surprised to be held to scoreless draw by Rakiraki Legends who had the services William Work, Joji Rasila, Petaia Natisiwai, and Tama Vosuga.

The Tagi Vonolagi-coached Pasifika Tent Nasinu Masters beat Lautoka Masters 3-1.

Binesh Kumar scored twice, Nilesh Chand, and Nitesh Lal while William Prasad scored an own goal.

Day two of competition continues today.
