Ratu Navula Wary Of Defending Champs

The Ratu Navula College Un­der-18 side are looking forward to their semi-final clash against Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Pow­erade Super Deans Championship.

This was after the Nadi-based school beat John Wesley College 23-12 in their quarterfinal clash at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

What happened: Ratu Navula College registered the first points in the 2nd minute of play when full-back Osea Waqaninavatu scored dived over for their first try and he converted it for a 7-0 lead.

In the 15th minute he kicked over a penalty to extend their tally to 10-0.

In the 20th minute, Waqaninavatu made it 13-0 from another penalty.

In the final minutes of the first half Ratu Navula centre Jesoni Junior scored their second try with the con­version missing.

The second half started on a high note as both teams fought hard to keep their chances of qualifying alive.

Ratu Navula scored their third try with the conversion missing. John Wesley College came back with two tries with and with one being con­verted.

Comment: Ratu Navula College U18 coach Filipe Koroikai said: “We are looking forward to a tough game against RKS in the semi-final. We are really looking forward to test them out.”
