West 2 In Semis

We cannot even recall when two teams from the western zone have qualified for the U18 semifinals- Biu Colati
The semifinals and finals of the Powerade Super Deans Rugby competition will be played at the ANZ Stadium, Suva on Saturday.
And Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union executive Biu Colati said it would be a special and historical showdown as it is the first time that two schools from the western zone have qualified for the Under-18 semifinals in place of traditional powerhouse Queen Victoria School and Lelean Memorial School.
The U18 semifinal will see Cuvu College of Nadroga face Marist Brothers High School while Ratu Navula College of Nadi clash with defending champions Ratu Kadavulevu School.
“We cannot even recall when two teams from the western zone have qualified for the semifinal,” Colati said.
“The number of upsets will make the semifinal an interesting one knowing that new teams are coming in and it makes this year’s competition quite a unique one.”
Colati clarified that the rules of the FSSRU have been quite clear from the start.
“MBHS and QVS U18 teams played to a draw and the team which scored first will be the winner if there’s no change after extra time,” Colati said.
“With the number of upsets today we are looking forward to an exciting semifinals and hopefully we will get more fans will next week.
“Next week will be anybody’s game.”
