Frank Hilton Organisation has raised $85,000 to support the Hilton Special School and Hilton Early Intervention Centre.

This is after its famous Wheelbarrow Race which saw hundreds turn up at the event on Victoria Parade in Suva on Saturday.

Public Awareness co-ordinator Ashna Kumar said: “It’s not a race where people come to only race and win something, but they were there to race for a good cause in raising money to provide support to children with disabilities and to get the organisations provide the services.

“Basically, it was a good corporate fun-filled event and it was really very unique to Fiji as well compared to the other races that usually happen.”

Ms Kumar encourages more organisations to come in and support them and be part of the race next year.

“Getting more people would mean that more people will get to know what Frank Hilton does and basically about children with disabilities so we want more people to come in so the next race should be bigger.

“We are very hopeful to get more people to participate.”

Harcourts Fiji raised the highest amount of $15000 for the charity event.

Ms Kumar commended the participants and sponsors for their support.

Fortech Construction team won the race followed by BlueScope team and Bluescope Pacific team.

Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Josefa Koroivueta officiated at the event yesterday.
