There was no injury recorded after an aircraft accident at the Nausori International Airport yesterday.

It is believed that the pilot of the small aircraft was making a landing when it crashed into the airport fence around 7pm.

Airport manager Vincent Kumar confirmed the incident to the Fiji Sun last night and that the only person on board was the pilot.

Mr Kumar was not in a position to reveal the owners or the type of aircraft adding any other information would have to come from Police or civil aviation authorities.

This will be done once investigations were completed.

“From the airport side everything is under control.” he said.

“The aircraft, which damaged its wing, was cleared from the place it crashed, just short of the runway, within minutes by the airport security officers and the Police.”

He said the matter was handed to the Police and authorities for their further investigation.
