The Labasa football team will miss the services of two of their key players in tomorrow’s Vodafone Premier League clash against Dreketi at Subrail Park.

Ruled out are veteran defender Taniela Waqa and star striker Christopher Wasasala.

Waqa is tied down with family commitments while Wasasala has not been attending training

Labasa Football manager Nilesh Lal said yesterday despite missing them they are ready to face Dreketi.

“We know that Dreketi will be coming in prepared and we have to be careful, they can do anything at any time,” Lal said.

“We need to work a lot on areas where we were lacking. There were times during the Battle of the Giants, when we were supposed to score but did not.

“We need to solve this before we play Dreketi. The boys have brushed up their moves and are also working on their fitness.

“The management has been doing their work and players have communicated well and we are confident of a win.”

Lal said they have done their homework and are ready to play

“We will play at their level and we will give our best. We call on our fans to support us at all times either we win or lose. The other players in the team are capable of delivering the much-needed result.

“Our aim is to win the game and we are confident of achieving that. We want to restore lost glory,” he added.

Labasa are expected to field top players like Antonio Tuivuna, Edwin Sahayam, Ratu Anare, Thomas Steiner and Ilisoni Logaivau.

The match kicks-off at 7pm.
