Ratu Sukuna Memorial School’s Deputy headboy Aisake Vulaono said yesterday that taking part in the school’s cadet programme was not easy, but it was worth it.

Aisake made the comment after being named the overall best male cadet yesterday.

With more than 700 students participating at the cadet parade, Aisake was singled out for his performance and attitude throughout the training until the final day.

“I thank the Lord for the award today. It was not easy, but it was worth it,” he said.

Wearing his leadership hat and being the parade adjutant, he said the responsibility was challenging for him.

“At times it was hard trying to gather the entire student body together for training, but with the other prefects and heads we managed to get through,” Aisake said.

Meanwhile, Salote Lemaki was named best female cadet.

She said it came as a surprise because she was not expecting the award.

The Year 10 student said the training was not easy, but she was thankful for the recognition.
