Career And Internship Fair At USP Concludes

The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Career and Internship Fair 2018 ended yesterday.

The main aim of the fair was to provide the best employment opportunities for USP’s graduates.

The two-day fair brought together 60 top organisations and employers from across the country.

The organisations met with students for graduate recruitment, graduate internships, attachments and for future employment.

There were a faculty focus sessions at the Japan Information Communication Technology (ICT) Theatre where relevant industry stakeholders did presentations on internship/attachment opportunities.

They met selected students of Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment (FSTE), Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) and Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE).

In addition, there was a job-seeking skills workshops on topics such as resume/curriculum vitae and cover letter writing, interview skills/mock interview sessions and career portfolio development.

One of the company’s present was Total (Fiji) Limited.

“Students were here to seek possible job opportunities with us,” Total (Fiji) Limited manager human resources and administration Susan Miller said.

“We are looking at potential final year students or graduates. We had over 150 students registering with us in these two days.”

“We have emailed them and asked for their curriculum vitae and we are making a database for possible recruitment.”
