Fijian U19 To Play For Nabou Victims

The Vodafone Fijian Un­der-19 football team are gearing up for today’s clash against the Solomon Is­lands.

After beating Vanuatu 3-1 in round one, head coach Bal Sanju Reddy knows what is ex­pected in the second match of the OFC U19 Championship in Tahiti.

The entire team were sad­dened to learn of the tragic ac­cident in Nabou and the young Bula Boys will be play for the victims in their remaining games.

“Our deepest sympathy to the families of the victims of the Nabou accident and we are also praying for those fighting for their lives in the hospital,” Reddy said.

“Our young Bula Boys are remembering them in their prayers and will be playing for them.

“Preparation are going on quite well as everyone is ex­pecting a tough encounter with both Fiji and Solomons enter­ing the match with a win each.

“We have left behind the first win and boys have been urged to get their focus for this game.

“We have identified our mis­takes from the first game and working on it for improve­ments.”

The team have also been boost­ed with the arrival of the na­tional head coach Christophe Gamel.

“We welcome our national coach here in Tahiti who will also be helping us with techni­cal aspects of the games.”

Fiji play Solomon Islands at 1pm.
