The Ram Sami sponsored Nasinu Rugby Union semi-finals on Saturday will see tournament favorites Newtown take on Flick Vatuwaqa while FMF face FMF Tacirua Rema.

Defending champions Newtown with Fiji Airways Fijian 7s captain Seremaia Tuwai at fullback thrashed Navosai 23-9 in the first quarterfinal.

Other quarterfinals saw Flick Vatuwaqa upset Uluinakau Babaas 22-20 while FMF Tacirua Rema beat Tovata 26-14, FMF scored a 22-10 upset win over Nadera.

Nasinu Rugby Union assistant secretary Doni Wainiqolo said, Newtown have topped the points table so far but they are not ruling out any team as they are all capable of creating an upset.

“It’s a tough call right now to determine who will be the favourites,” he said.

“All teams will want to reach the top eight in order to qualify for the challenge where they will have prizemoney up for grabs.

“Flick sponsored Vatuwaqa has really stepped up this year and it will be an exciting match next week.”
