Upcoming swimmer Moana Wind has set her sight of doing Fiji proud in the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships at the Damodar Aquatic Centre on August 23-27.

The Saint Joseph’s Secondary School student loves her breaststroke and butterfly events.

“I guess it will be a fun competition as my sister (Mikaela Wind) participated in the 2014 competition,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to be in the team and most of them are young swimmers.”

The Year 11 student also took part in the Oceania Championships in Papua New Guinea where she scoped an individual bronze medal and also at the New Zealand Open Nationals.

She stays with her aunt in Suva while her parents live in Vanua Levu. Wind is a member of the Orca Swimming Club.

“I have been in the sport for a decade but I joined the club seven years ago. I need to set some good personal best times in this event.”

Nadi- based swimmer Netani Ross said: “The Junior Pan Pacs will be a tough competition as there will be a lot of age group swimmers in the competition.
