Captain Cook Cruises Fiji has released the 2019 and 2020 departure dates for its two Northern Fiji seven-night discovery cruises.

They include the four cultures discovery cruise and colonial Fiji discovery cruise, onboard small ship MV Reef Endeavour.

The four cultures discovery cruise was the first ever Fiji cruise to circumnavigate Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island.

The visits will be to see four distinctive Fijian cultures: Ellice Islanders (Polynesians), Banabans (Micronesians), Fijian and Indian.

Guests will be taken on a cultural journey through a show of song and dance by the Polynesians of Kioa Island and discover the home and history of the  Banaban people on Rabi Island.

They will spend a morning in Labasa Town, home to a vast number of Indo-Fijians.

Entertainment will be provided by a Bollywood style dance troop, and guests will also visit a Hindu snake temple and see the growing rock.

Guests will get a chance to shop along the main street and explore the large market which sells a range of foods, spices, fish, poultry, goats and other local products.

They will visit a local school and see the children’s classrooms and school work, and be entertained with a cultural song and dance show.

Scheduled departure dates for four cultures discovery cruise are in 2019 on January 1, May 7, July 7, September 3, and in 2020 on January 7.

The seven nights colonial Fiji discovery cruise is a cruise that reveals the unique history, art and culture of the Northern Fiji Islands and gives passengers the ultimate experience of standing on the 180th Meridian, the natural dateline.

The cruise visits the world heritage listed Levuka on the island of Ovalau featuring 19th century colonial architecture and waterfront promenades from colonial rule.

At Makogai Island, guests can experience a traditional Fijian ceremony and walking tour of Makogai leper colony and nursery.

The island is also home to giant clams and turtles.

The visit includes one to a local primary school, for a song and dance performance from the children.

Guests will get a chance to explore Savusavu and choose from a selection of tours, including a visit to the hot springs, pearl farm and local markets.

At Taveuni island, guests will visit Bouma Waterfall National Park for a chance to view or hike a series of natural waterfalls, and swim in the Bouma waterfall Lagoon before visiting Naselesele Village.

The departure dates in 2019 for the colonial Fiji discovery cruise are on February 2, April 2, June 4 and October 10 and in 2020 on February 4.

Guests also get to go glass bottom boating or try scuba diving operated by Viti Water Sports.

Early Booking Saver (EBS) fares in a porthole cabin for Northern Fiji seven-night discovery cruises start from only FJ$4456  per person twin share and cruises depart Denarau Marina at 1.00pm.

Fares include shipboard accommodation, all meals, guided village, school and island tours, snorkelling and glass bottom boat excursions, daily island stopovers and water activities, hikes and kayak safaris, on board entertainment, kids club (5-9yrs) and onboard Wi-Fi.

The fares are also inclusive of 24-hour self-service tea and coffee bar, post cruise transfers to Nadi and Denarau hotels and Nadi airport and use of the ship’s facilities including a swimming pool, spa’s, mini gym, sun deck, cocktail bar and library.
