Team Ba took out the Wil­liams & Gosling Master Pairs Bowls 2018 at the Nadi Sports and Social Club yes­terday.

The side had the services of Abdul Kalim/ Som Padiyachi who beat defending champions Team Sheraton (Rajnesh Pras­ad/ Kaushal Pillay) 17-14 in the 18 end match.

“It was tough game and it went right to the wire,” Kalim told SUNsports.

“We were down 13-14 and made four shot in the final end.”

They walked away $250 richer for their effort. In the semi-final, they beat Jona Koroitama/ Wai­sea Turaga 20-11 while Prasad/ Pillay defeated David Aitcheson/Ricky Eyre 31-8.

Bowls Fiji president Radhika Prasad was impressed with the competition and thanked the sponsors for coming onboard for the consecutive third year.

“The competition went well with 15 teams competing for the top honours once again,” she said.

“We thank Ba Bowls for host­ing the two-day event at the Nadi Sports Club. Good to see veter­ans of the sports like Shorab Khan and Som Padiyachi in ac­tion.”

Arun Kumar and Litia Tikoisu­va will be defending champions Pineapple Cup (Singles) in Suva from September 8-9.

Rajnesh Prasad/Kaushal Pillay beat Semesa Naseruvati/Siti­veni Tikoisuva 20-11,

Jona Koroitamana/Waisea Turaga beat Munesh Kumar/Sanjeet Sen 18-16,

Abdul Kalim/Som Padiyachi beat Asaeli Nabogi/Shashi Pil­lay 20-6.
