The Quality Power sponsored- Service Football Club have again qualified for the National Club Cham­pionship’s zone playoffs for the second consecutive time.

The club started off on a high note leading Pool A till the very end with teams such as Press FC, United Sangam, Rifle Range FC, All Stars FC, Fusion FC, Black Town FC, MVP and Viseisei FC coming in strongly

Service FC booked their spot after beating United Sangam FC 2-1 in the semi- finals as goals were scored by national and Lautoka football midfielders Kavaia Rawaqa and Bakalevu Moceimereke Junior.

Service coach Tariq Bahadur said, “We are focused more on the fitness aspects hence I thanked the boys for their hard work and discipline.”

Bahadur also thanked Lautoka Football Association for facilitating a good and competitive League for 2018.

Viliame Sucu scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Lovu Sangam in the quarterfinal.

Some notable players include crafty Maika Waqa, Ti­moci Delai, Inia Bainivalu, Jonathan N, Iliatia Bainivalu, Dan Rawaqa, and Mohd Iffraz.

Service FC was formed in 1934 and is a founding member of the Lautoka FA.

The club over the years produced national reps like Au­gustine Thoman, Josaia Tubuna, Kelemedi Vosuga (Chee­tah), Jimmy Vosuga and Wame Vosuga to name a few.

Others include commentator Raymond Stoddart and the late sports journalist Gabriel Singh.
