The Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Jone Usamate, has confirmed that the investigations into Grace Road Group of Companies over numerous allegations related to employment is continuing.

Mr Usamate, after a public consultation at Labasa Town Council yesterday, said he wasn’t aware as to how far the progress of the investigation was because he has been travelling to various islands in the Northern Division since last week conducting public consultations.

“My staff are carrying out investigations on whether any of our Fiji Labour Laws was breached or not followed,” Mr Usamate said.

“Investigation is continuing and they will soon provide me a report upon my return.”

Grace Road Group is composed of Christians who claim that they see, hear, believe, and act by the Bible.

In a statement, they said under the motto of ‘Honesty, Sincerity, Diligence before God and men,’ they work everyday to make Fiji the strongest nation in the world and to make the world where God is only God.

“You can see this vision and our commitment to it in our restaurants, products and services, achievements and above all in our people,” the statement affirmed.

“Many in Fiji share this vision and values with us and support us as partners, suppliers, and customers.

“Then, there are those who don’t like our vision and what we achieve. These people have been making outrageous claims and spreading false information in the media, especially in Korea.

“GR Group consists of 150 investors and their families, who believe in the vision and volunteered to come to Fiji.

“With 220 local employees, we want to expand our businesses and provide the quality products and services to the local and overseas market.”
