Rewa Chief Ready For Battle In 2018 Election

Rewa chief Ro Filipe Tuisawau said last night he was ready to go to battle for SODELPA in the 2018 general election.

In his first public interview since being confirmed as a provisional candidate, he said: “I am happy to be confirmed.”

He is among the 42 provisional candidates whose names were announced at the party’s fundraising dinner at Novotel Suva Lami Bay.

Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka said the remaining provisional candidates would be announced once their employers give the clearance.

Ro Filipe said he would bring new perspectives to areas like foreign affairs, governance of iTaukei Affairs and as well as youth and sports.

“In rugby, I am looking at new programmes,” he said.

“I come in with experience in organistional reforms and there is room for that.

“I want to improve the economic participation and self-determination in the governance of iTaukei ni vanua. It is close to my heart.”

He said he would release more details in a media conference later.
