Vodafone Fijian football star striker Roy Krishna says Stoke City’s defender Scott Wara will bring a lot of experience to their defensive line.

Krishna made the comments as soon as he jetted into the country yesterday with his wife Naziah Ali.

“As always it is great to come back home,” he said.

“We have been travelling from this morning so we want to get a bit of rest before joining the rest of the squad.”

Krishna said he has not spoken with Wara but has heard a lot about him.

Wara joins Krishna as the two top profile players in the national team.

“Even though I have not spoken to him I have heard a lot of good things about him,” Krishna said.

“Coach Christophe Gamel has brought him into the squad and that is great for Fiji football. I think he will be a valuable player in the team.”

As for Wednesday’s friendly against the Solomon Islands, Krishna says, the visitors have always been a strong side.

“They are always good and play some exciting football so I think it will be an exciting match.”

Krishna said he is fit and looking forward to joining the national squad for training today.
