Two buildings on Nadi’s Denarau Road being developed by Hari Punja and Sons Limited (HPS), being built using ‘green’ products, was traditionally blessed yesterday.

Bluegas, a subsidiary of Hari Punja and Sons Limited, will occupy one of the new buildings once constructed, which was built at a cost of $2.5 million.

The second building, worth $3 million has already attracted three major tenants.

They include insurance company AON, Dominion Finance and Bayleys Real Estate (Fiji) Limited. Bluegas managing director Ajay Punja said the company will mainly build with machines which are environmentally-friendly.

Incorporated into the structures are training facilities and a demonstration room for the petroleum and gas company’s new products.

Hari Punja and Sons Limited director Rohit Punja said the new products would be available soon for the first time in Fiji at affordable prices.

“Bluegas has ventured into ‘green’ products,” Mr Punja said.

The products and services to be offered include:

 Innovative renewable energy products

 Alternate energy solutions to reduce carbon emissions

 Modern energy efficiency solutions to reduce energy usage in buildings

 Smart devices and smart home systems

Mr Punja said the smart systems would also include new generators, which would be able to supply just the right amount of power.

The Bluegas showroom was built on two lots with a total area of 600 square metres.

The HPS office was built on three lots covering 750 square metres.

Mr Punja said the second building was being leased on a long-term basis and includes offices and retail outlets.

Modern green materials were used to build both the buildings, he said

“The two buildings would be powered once the equipment for renewable energy, specifically solar power, comes in. It will be sourced from Energy Fiji Limited supply as the backup power supplier,” Ajay Punja said.

“The buildings have also been designed to harvest rain water to be re-used for washing and watering of plants and washing of cement and floors.”

As for the new equipment that would be on sale at showroom, he said the company would deal with quality and established machines and will sell affordable products.

“We will sell quality products that are known internationally,” he said.

“Most of the machines would be industrial equipment.”
