Pacific Energy South West Pacific Limited had donated $4150 to the Nausori Town Council to finance its Clean-Up Day Campaign initiative.

The initiative is to commemorate the National Environment Week programme focusing on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”.

Nausori Town Council had called for the concerted effort and cooperation of all stakeholders to recognise the problem and work together in eradicating plastic bottles and other plastics from the streets of Nausori.

The council also intends to conduct this clean-up drive on Saturday, September 15 from 9am to 2pm with at least 50 participants.

It plans to engage civil servants through the Commissioner Central Division, the council staff and other interested parties.

Pacific Energy SWP Ltd business manager-lubricants Tapuaki Finauga said the sponsorship should serve as an encouragement to other businesses in Nausori to support the council in its effort to eradicate plastics and plastic bottles from the town area.
