What makes up a Five Star resort?
Many things, says Warwick Khal, general manager of the Pullman Nadi Bay Resort and Spa now in the final stages of construction at Wailoaloa Beach, Nadi.
The resort is a $90 million (earlier reports said $80 million) property investment by the Gokal Group of Companies.
It will mark the arrival in Fiji of the Pullman brand of upscale hotels and resorts.
Pullman is described as the high-end international brand of the Fench Accor group, mainly targeted at cosmopolitan travellers.
And located, according to Accor, in the world’s most vibrant global cities and most sought-after tourist destinations Mr Kahl, following his extensive interview published earlier this week, today looks at five of the many things which help make the Pullman Nadi Bay Resort unique.

1.The location:
Our location as the closest 5 star beach side resort near the Nadi International Airport and Nadi itself sets us apart.
Also our location for those pre and post island guests looking for a sanctuary whilst they are on a flight layover.

2.Restaurants
Our restaurant and bar offerings.
For example our signature air conditioned beach side Thai restaurant.
The choices of eateries at the resort will give each guest a choice of the meals they want.
These include the Magiti Restaurant, which opens all day, the Dandan Restaurant which is mainly for casual dining, the Barefoot Bar and Grill, the Kah Restaurant which will serve up Thai dishes and the Ro Bar which will be situated in the lobby.

3.Elegant and stylish guest rooms
The resort’s elegant and stylish, guest rooms provide a spacious and peaceful haven.
Guests can choose from a range of accommodation options, including deluxe rooms, deluxe king rooms, deluxe twin rooms and suites.
Private Event Spaces include four private meeting spaces, a 400 people theatre style in the Soqoni Ballroom which will include state-of-the-art audio visual equipment

4.A wedding chapel
Sophisticated, beautiful, elegant and romantic! It offers a setting of your destination wedding.

5. Spa treatment
The six treatment room spa dedicated to wellness and beauty.

Mr Kahl believes Fiji as a tourist destination is very strong in the Australian and New Zealand markets and the emerging Chinese markets.
He said what would set Pullman apart would be its location.
At full occupancy, the hotel will have 270 staff on site.
The resort has already begun its recruitment beginning with the executive team and then other areas of hiring would the follow.
Training would begin for the new recruits in November and Mr Kahl says he can’t wait to start.
