Moses Sorovi, Quade Cooper keen to play Fiji Airways Fijian Drua

Moses Sorovi is grateful to be playing the game he loved at home.

In Fiji for the first time, the son of former Fijian boxing champion Mosese Sorovi of Matanuku, Ravitaki, Kadavu, arrived with Brisbane City yesterday to play the Fiji Airways Fijian Drua in round two of the National Rugby Championship at Churchill Park, Lautoka today.

“My dad lives in Sydney and I do meet him every now and then but I am based in Brisbane and whenever I go to Sydney I go and visit him,” he said.

“Definitely going to be tough and I know playing against my fellow Fijian brothers.

“They made their debut last year and were tough to beat

“But we are here to play and win and can’t wait. We’re not doubting the Fijians ability as they are definitely a strong and physical side.”

The 22-year-old halfback inked a new deal with the Super Rugby outfit, the Reds last month for two more seasons.

Former Wallabies pivot Quade Copper is looking forward to a good match against the Drua.

“The idea is to come here and beat them but you know they are a very tough side,” he said.

“I just cannot wait and looking forward to the game.”

The City v Drua match kicks-off at 3pm.
