Prasad’s policy solution

So, BTL readers, as the election nears let’s focus a little on politics.

National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad is at it again. This time around his focus is on the dairy industry. But instead of spelling out what alternative policies he will place for the industry, he is, at best, speaking in riddles. This seems to a problem with all political parties, they want to form government, but they are not telling people much about their policies.

Mr Prasad is critical of the 32 per cent duty imposed on milk being brought in from overseas. In the same breath he is talking about assisting local dairy farmers.

Removing the duty will no doubt have an impact on the local industry. It will put our dairy farmers out of business.

No industry, no problem of coming up with policies to implement? This is how they plan to run government?

Move over, Mick

SODELPA’s Jale O Baba is a funny person. But his sense of humour is as dry as his plantation, it seems.

He has replaced Mick Beddoes as the resident expert on everything to do with polling and research.

SODELPA should really focus a lot on what Mr Baba offers, some at FijiFirst no doubt hope. This will be a great help to the current ruling party.

Straight-talking Tupou

HOPE leader Tupou Draunidalo has never been one to mince her words. She has been vocal and is a real treat on social media these days. Her latest updates include tidbits from a recent meeting she attended where she was asked: Why couldn’t you work with that party any more?

In real Tupou style, her response was: Apart from coup maker, I have a very low threshold for stupid people.

This is in reference to her leaving the National Federation Party when they came too close for Tupou’s comfort with SODELPA.

… and Tupou again

More from our favourite former MP Tupou Draunidalo:

A wasted vote is a vote for a party that starts fighting in Parliament among themselves from day 1. They forgot about your vote and your interests, but instead focused on their self interest of power play and who is leader.

And now that Parliament has adjourned they are still focused on who is deputy leader.

And when they focused on parliament, they focused on increasing their allowances and the Government MPs’ allowances.

Their contribution in the House outclassed every day, every single day by the small party sitting next to them.

Wasted votes indeed!
