As head of your families you must be more spiritual.

That was the crux of the message in a sermon by the Minister for Employment Jone Usamate during the Father’s Day service at Kalabu yesterday.

Mr Usamate was one of the guest speakers at the Ratu Iferemi Kubukawa Wakanisila Memorial Methodist Church.

During his sermon Mr Usamate urged all fathers to have a good and stable spiritual life.

“If a leader of a country, family or community has a stubborn and arrogant life then there is no use in having a good spiritual life,” he said.

“We as fathers need to have a very good and stable spiritual life so it can pave the way and the leadership that we show to our families at home.

“The role we play is very important because we are role models to our children and our grandchildren and that’s important in this drastic world that we live in today.”

Mr Usamate hopes that all fathers around Fiji will use Father’s Day as a renewal of their spiritual life’s.

“I hope that they will have a good spiritual renewal not only in this Sunday because if there’s something that we need that will strengthen all fathers in Fiji it is church,” he said.

“And being revived spiritually is a must because it has a role to play every segment of their lives,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, Mr Usamate has sent his well wishes for all fathers in Fiji.

“I want to wish all fathers in Fiji a happy Father’s Day and God bless,” Mr Usamate said.
