The two-day 2018 Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Fiji Congress  begins today with probably its best lineup of speakers yet.

The premier event for the finance fraternity will be opened by the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Over the two days at the at Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa, Yanuca Island, compelling and fascinating international business coaches will motivate and inspire the movers and shakers present at the Congress.

The theme of the congress is “Connecting the biggest minds.”

What to expect? Details provided by the organisers on some of the speakers include:

  • Tom O’Neil is a leading international specialist in human potential and personal achievement. He will speaking on the topic  1% Principle: Improving your performance today. He is a professional goals coach with a strong background working closely with a wide range of individuals from students through to CEOs.
  • Lisa Mcinnes‐Smith will be speaking on The Heart of Success! Connect. Relate. Empower. After 30 years working with business people, educators and young achievers, Lisa knows what it takes for people to change – to change direction, change attitude, change behaviour and change outcomes. Her expertise is raising performance and building teams that shape the future.
  • Yamini Naidu is rated among the top three business storytellers globally and is the world’s only economist turned business storyteller. Best selling author, master facilitator and keynote speaker she works with leaders helping them shift from spreadsheets to stories.
  • Ms Naidu will be speaking on the topic Hooked: Connecting, Engaging and Inspiring using storytelling. This award recognises the results she has had, the impact of her work with clients and her thought leadership in business storytelling. She is currently the director of She is a much sought after presenter, combining authenticity and humor with rich insights.
  • Sri Lankan information communication technology (ICT) expert Jayantha Fernando. He has over 15 years international and South East Asian experience in a broad range of ICT legal issues.
  • Mr Fernando covers ICT policy and legal reforms, negotiating and drafting a range of information technology contracts, cyber security and internet governance issues.
  • Alan Cameron-Sweeney Alan trained as an accountant within Ireland’s largestcompany, CRH, and has since worked across commercial and non‐profit sectors.
  • He now helps qualified professionals go from Information to Insight using analytical techniques which saves time and significantly improves decisions making. To guide them he uses a six step process called the “Visual Finance Insight Meter”.
  • Jasindar Singh (originally from Lautoka, Fiji) is a Leadership Coach, Business Psychologist, Author and Blogger with over 30 years experience. Her expertise and passion is in developing emotionally intelligent leaders with greater self‐awareness.
