There should not be any excuses for our athletes now, says Christopher Minimbi.

The Marist Brothers High School head boy made the comment after the official opening of a new rugby field, an athletics track and a 15-metre jumping pit yesterday.

“We should not have any excuses now,” Minimbi said

“This is a big gift seeing all the boys happy and I know that we will benefit from it preparing for the Coca-Cola Games and other sporting events.

“We have been given all this good things and I think it is time for us to give back and deliver the result.”

Marist Brothers High School principal Timaima Sew said the new development would be a big boost for athletes and rugby players.

“This will boost the morale of our athletes not only the sprinters but long distance runners and rugby players as well,” Sew said

“We now have proper running tracks.

“I’m very grateful for the facilities we have now and we are grateful to the city of Guangzhou in China and the Fiji government for initiating the discussion.”
