A man charged with aggravated robbery has been further remanded by the High Court in Suva.

Filipe Delana appeared before Justice Chamath Morais on Monday.

Items allegedly stolen

It is alleged that Delana in the company of others on July 22, 2010, at Suva in the Central Division, robbed Ajay Narayan of one gold chain valued at $4000, three rings valued at $1000, one wrist watch (citizen brand) valued at $400, one Alcatel mobile phone valued at $199, one Compact laptop valued at $3000, one men’s cologne valued at $180, one women’s cologne valued at $150, one shaving gel valued at $10, one mobile phone valued at $40, one gold watch valued at $500, assorted jewellery valued at $6000, one Nokia mobile phone valued at $299, one Toyota Land Cruiser valued at $32,500, all to the total value of $48,278.00.

Delana opted to represent himself in court.

The State lawyer told the court that they would rely on the caution interview.

Delana told the court he would file voir dire grounds for his case.

The Office of Director of Public Prosecutions did not object to the voir dire grounds and requested if it could be filed before the trial proper.

Justice Morais told the accused to file the voir dire grounds so it could be checked.

The accused was remanded in custody.
