UN Peacekeeping Chief Jean-Pierre Lacroix had talks with Fijian Unaisi Bolatolu-Vuniwaqa.
She is the first-ever female Police Commissioner serving the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Mr Lacroix and the Executive Director of UN Women, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, met women peacekeepers last Sunday to discuss how the UN can support women peacekeepers activities in South Sudan.
Their three-day visit comes a few weeks after South Sudan signed a peace agreement aimed to halt a five-year conflict that has crippled the country’s progress.
