The train is alleged to have hit the side of the bus ripping off its back tyres and rim.

During the collision, the bus then pulled the train off the railway onto the road.

Traffic came to a halt and Fiji Airport staff rolled out their procedures to direct the traffic to other routes in an orderly manner.

Fiji Sugar Corporation staff later arrived at the scene to weld the broken railway track.
