Mataiasi Tuwai would not have made it to university, had it not been for the EmpowHAIR Ministry charity group.

The charity group, which is run by Dani Haddad, is a partnership with the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort in Korotogo and is aimed at providing formal education for the unemployed youths or those interested in hairdressing.

Mr Tuwai graduated with a Certificate of Attainment in Hairdressing and a Certificate of Participation in Bridal Upstyle and Bridal Makeup during the National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) Department of Hospitality and Tourism graduation ceremony at the Fiji National University (FNU), Nadi Campus on Wednesday.

He said he was thankful to the EmpowHAIR Ministry for financially supporting his education.

He said there was no doubt that he would support her charity organisation in future.

“I feel so happy and I am proud of myself for coming this far all because of the EmpowHAIR Ministry,” Mr Tuwai said.

“With my success, my family was also by my side and with me every step of the way.”

Ms Haddad said it was a proud moment for her seeing a person who she supported, walk up and receive his certificate after all his hard work.

“I feel super proud, he is very talented,” she said.
