A traffic accident at Ratu Mara Road, Samabula, yesterday morning was a close call for a bus driver and a day without electricity for residents of Samabula and Nabua in Suva.

A Raiwaqa Buses Limited bus veered off the busy Ratu Mara Road and hit a lamp post. The bus was travelling towards Nausori from Suva and had no passengers.

The impact caused the power pole to break and live electric wires were broken.

The driver had to be rescued after Energy Fiji Limited technicians intervened.
