Twelve Nadroga rugby players graduated as Police officers at Nasova, Suva yesterday.

And eight of them have been named by head coach Esala Nauga in his match 23 to take on Suva in the 2019 Skipper Cup Premiership final at the ANZ Stadium today.

Those who graduated include Josua Kurucuva, Apete Salawaqavuka, Mosese Tawake, Emosi Vucago, Timoci Sauvoli, Sailosi Dawai, Ulaiyasi Lawavou, Eremasi Radrodro, Ratunaisa Navuma, Josese Kurokavu, Jone Navori and Jone Koroi.

And the players who will feature for Nadroga today are Kuricuva, Salawaqavuka, Sauvoli, Dawai, Radrodro, Navuma, Kurokavu and Navori.

Former Flying Fijian fullback Norman Ligairi banks on the new graduates to boost the Stallions.

Ligairi places his bet on the Stallions to reclaim the provincial rugby powerhouse status.

“This is the climax of the rugby competition in Fiji and it could be anybody’s game,” Ligairi said.

“They just have to play their own game of running rugby, which Nadroga is well known for. Final is not a first for Nadroga as they have been in the final many times.”

The Fijian international added that Suva, playing on his home turf would be the team to beat.

“Last week Naitasiri forwards were good too but Nadroga exploited their defence.”

“It does not matter whether it is a young or old Stallions they do the same job. And when someone wears the Stallions jumper, they know they have a job to do.”

Ligairi made his debut for Nadroga in 1997 against Nadi in the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy.

Ligairi represented Fiji at international level in 15s and 7s.

Meanwhile, Nadroga will be without key players Apisalome Waqatabu, and Timoci Davu.
