Banuve Completes ‘Triple-Double’ With 200m Win At Pacific Games

Banuve Tabakaucoro has won his second gold medal at the 2019 Pacific Games in the 200m with a time of 20.87s.

He said after the race, “I made Jeremy run my race today.

“Just working on that first 150m, I was waiting, I was waiting on him – but he just couldn’t get me today.

Tabakaucoro successfully defended his 100m and 200m sprints which he has won for 3 consecutive Pacific Games. He previously won the two events at Noumea in 2011 and Port Moresby in 2015.

Jeremy Dodson of Samoa was the favourite to win. He was a close second with a time of 20.91s.

He is a specialist in the 200m runner couldn’t catch Fiji’s golden boy.

Theo Piniau of PNG won bronze 21.70s.
