Mr Greig said as part of their birthday plan, customers would have the opportunity to enjoy more data.

“So if you pick any $11 plan, you can choose the phat plan if you love data or a Bawse plan if you love everything and be the ‘bawse’ of your talk, text, chat and data.

“We are offering an additional 11GB.

“So for $11 you will get 22GB for the month of October which is our birthday offer,” said Mr Greig.

Future plans

In terms of future plans for the company, Mr Greig adds that Digicel Fiji will continue to serve Fiji and reach out to communities that are not connected.

Since forming on October 1, 2008, Digicel Fiji has provided competition in the market.

“Immediately there were changes in the market place, it became more dynamic.

“We have seen the evolution of telecommunications over the years.

“There has been lots of innovation from 2G, 3G, 4G and almost 5G.

“Digicel is also one of Fiji’s national providers.

“We also offer broadband so we are a full-service provider, offering services to not just consumers but also businesses and everybody in Fiji.

He adds that Digicel Fiji has also been a Pacific hub in the telecommunications fabric.

“It is really important to be part of the telecommunication fabric or the business fabricso that companies like Digicel continues to invest in Fiji and build their business locally that is employing people.

“Digicel employs almost 500 people in this region and we actually look after not just Fiji but also Samoa, Vanuatu, Nauru, Tonga and parts of Papua New Guinea as well. We want to be relevant and understand our customers,” he said.

Mr Greig hopes to also further develop their network.

“Right now we have built our 4G plus network.”

He further adds that Digicel Fiji will continue its services to their customers in terms of providing the latest devices.

“We want to make sure that the latest devices are available so we are adding smartphones in our stores making sure that they can connect and continue to stay connected.

“We need to be relevant.

“We need to continue to challenge and we want to continue to bring services like entertainment, business solutions, cloud-based services, technology, 5G and all the devices that go with what our customers want and demand,” added Mr Greig.

Market

Mr Greig says having a competition in the market is good for the business.

He adds that it encourages innovation.

“We want to continue to innovate and bring technology to not just businesses but consumers as well.

“We are here as a business so it is important for us to return on investment to those who have invested in us and to run a fast and efficient business.”

Birthday message

In his birthday message, Mr Greig is thankful to Fiji especially its loyal customers.

“We want to thank the business community and everybody that has supported us all the way.

“So being here we feel part of the community and we want to continue to be part of the community,” said Mr Greig.

Mr Greig said the birthday data plan will run throughout the month of October.
