The attractive posters advertised around the Sugar City prompted Luisa Senisalusalu, to attend the Fiji Corrections Service Yellow Ribbon Walk yesterday morning.

Dressed in yellow, with her son in his stroller, they joined the sea of hundreds who marched through Lautoka to support the initiative.

“This is my first time taking part in the Yellow Ribbon walk and it’s such a great feeling being here,” she said.

“I was in town yesterday (Friday) and saw the posters put up all over town so I decided to come and bring my son.

“For me this Yellow Ribbon programme gives a second chance to those who have been in prison and this is a good way to organise something positive because it shows them that we are hundred per cent behind them and we support them.”

He said since its inception in 2008, the programme has improved the lives of inmates and their families by giving them another shot at redemption.
