BSP Has Needy Students At Heart
BSP continues to give back to students in need.

Students who are in desperate need of assistance will definitely be going to school with all the essentials required.

That’s because the Foundation for Education of Needy Children (FENC FIJI) received 300 back to school packs from Bank South Pacific (BSP), to assist students in the new school year.

These packs will help assist children facing extraordinary challenges with their parents or guardians as they strive to afford education.

BSP official Vasiti Vugakoto said: “We hope to motivate these children to persevere despite their financial situation and attain the best education possible to become responsible, hardworking and productive citizens so they are empowered to break away from the cycle of poverty.

“As a responsible bank with Fiji at heart, we understand the challenges families face when trying to send their children to school…the donation serves to alleviate this burden of responsibility.”

FENC Fiji chairman Ratu Meli Vesikula said this was the bank’s 10th year supporting the organisation.

“BSP has been the longest serving donor and has donated $10,000 every year for the past 10 years,” Ratu Meli said.

“Education is one of the main instruments for reducing poverty and inequality and lays a foundation for sustained economic growth.

“Through education the poor are able to free themselves from the clutches of poverty…contribute back to society,” he said.
