In the spirit of giving, stall owners and members of the public at the Republic of Cappuccino (ROC) Market Fiji have not forgotten those families affected by the bushfire incidents in Australia.

ROC Market co-ordinator, Ellana Kalounisiga, said they would contribute to proceeds for the Australian firefighter services and koalas.

Members of the public took advantage of the wide range of goods and food on offer during the market at Thurston Street in Suva yesterday and also had an opportunity to contribute towards the bushfire appeal.

The market runs on the third Sunday of every month and the organisers always had a community-based stall each market day.

“For today we thought of supporting the Australian firefighters and the koalas,” Mrs Kalounisiga said.

“In our community stall, we had a lot of community members donate baked goodies and pastries,” Mrs Kalounisiga said.

“We are happy to be able to lend a hand to support their recovery efforts.”

She acknowledged the support from members of the public.
