The production of Keanu Dilo Oil in Fiji has benefited many people especially those in Natadola area, Kadavu and Lomaiviti islands.

Flower Power Nursery project manager, Zane Southwick said their dilo (calophylum inophyllum) was sourced from many locations across Fiji.

“We aim to give the opportunity to supply Keanu Dilo Oil to as many communities as possible,” Mr Southwick said.

He said they produced 100 per cent pure dilo oil in 50 milliliter bottles for retail sale and wholesale in 1 litre bottles.

They did produce, he said, by products, but had scaled back to focus on the pure oil only for now.

Mr Southwick said their main market was Fiji, and they supplied companies such as Jack’s and Tappoo among others.

“We are currently in the process of becoming Food and Drug Administration (FDA) registered and compliant to take advantage of some export opportunities in the United States of America (USA).”

According to Mr Southwick, the parent company of Keanu Dilo Oil is Flower Power Nursery Pte Ltd, employs around 10 people.

However, he said, only two or three had any direct involvement in the production of the oil.

Mr Southwick said they brought on several casual workers to help in the production at crucial stages.

Their production site, he said, was located in Lami, just before Qauia Village.

“We have all aspects of the production process operational here.”

When Island Beat visited the factory, service manager Mark Rodan said they used all natural products at the factory.
