Versatile striker Cema Nasau played the key role as Ba beat arch-rivals Labasa 3-2 to win the 2020 Vodafone Women’s Inter-District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka yesterday.

Nasau sealed the victory with a well-taken goal in the final minute of play.

The Westerners avenged their loss in last year’s final.

Unaisi Ralumu scored first for Ba in the 13th minute before Nasau scored the second goal six minutes later.

Labara’s Sofiya Diyalowai pulled one bac in the 30th minute before Vitalina Nakore equalised in the 37th minute.

Halftime: Ba 2-2 Labasa.

Nasau credited the team’s success to the support they get off the field as well as on it.

“I was nervous but I give it up to the lord for his plans, “she said.

“This is a revenge match from last year. We need more development for the women’s team.”

Ba received a trophy and $4000 and Labasa was also awarded a consolation prize of $1500.
