Sevens maestro Waisale Serevi has urged all Fijians to adhere to Government’s plans on how to combat the COVID-19.

He has called on every Fijian to stay home and look after their health well.

Speaking from Seattle in Washington, USA, the Qarani, Gau native said during this COVID-19 pandemic it was also a blessing in disguise for many families to come together from their various busy life schedules.

Serevi said he was stuck in Seattle and could not travel to Russia as well including some of his family members too.

“There is a lockdown in many countries and I believe everyone is safe wherever you are. Stay home and save lives,” Serevi urged.

“This is to encourage everybody. I cannot complain. Everything happens for a reason. So happy to be at home, It is time for family to come together. I am always on the road to share the knowledge of rugby.“

He said his children – Waisale Jnr was in Japan, Asinate in San Diego while Una was at work.

“There is no excuse to be fit. Even if you are not playing rugby, you need to be fit. Church pastors, companies and government giving back to the people and community is a good thing.

He shared a 30-minute video exercise that can be done every day.

“I have seen people eating at home. This is also good but please do look after your body too. Watch what you eat and what you drink. Sleep at the right time.”

Despite the lockdown Serevi believes that people should have their goals. He says the three motivational keys are:

  • believe in yourself and believe in God;
  • keep working hard; and
  • don’t give up (you will get tired, but you won’t die)
