Fiji’s main ports were busy on Monday with cargo vessel Kota Hakim initially offloading containers during the first half of the day in Suva before heading for Lautoka.

According to local agent Transam Shipping Kota Hakim was at Majuro, Republic of the Marshall Islands, before coming to Fiji.

After offloading cargo at Suva Port it left for Lautoka yesterday.

It departs Lautoka today for Lae Papua New Guinea.

Kota Hakim was built in 2001 and is sailing under the flag of Singapore.

Meanwhile, cargo vessel South Islander’s arrival in Suva today has been deferred to Saturday.

The vessel departed from New Zealand early this week for Nukualofa in Tonga before sailing to Fiji.

William and Goslings are the local agents for South Islander. The vessel was built in 2007, and is currently sailing under the flag of Japan.

Oil tanker MT Laperouse is expected at Vuda port today and is expected to depart for Suva port soon after.

Ships expected to call into the main ports: July 17 Szechuen (container), July 19 Papuan Chief (container), July 21 Southern Moana (container) and July 23 Tokyo Car (vehicles carrier) and July 24 Capitaine Tasman (container).
