Wait no more, it’s time to kick rugby into action on Saturday.

It’s now more pleasing for fans to grab the chance resorting to the Old Normal by watching their favourite sport on Rugby Saturday.

As of late it has been boring during the weekends with no rugby brought about by the New Normal and now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, fans should make an effort to be there, lend support as the top eight teams battle in the first round of the Skipper Cup Premiership competition in four venues around Viti Levu.

The competition should be more exciting now that we have a double header every week.

On Saturday the Lawaqa Park showdown between 2019 Skipper Cup Premiership champion Suva and Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy holder Nadroga collide in a winner takes ALL clash.

We expect the provincial giants to set the pace and it’s hard to imagine Nadroga losing the silverwares as they have been tough to crack at home.

Getting the release of overseas-based player like Napolioni Nalaga is an added bonus, but the Stallions have depth in the squad to put on a strong challenge anyway.

Nadroga Rugby president Tiko Matawalu said: “Nadroga is not new to preparing for big games like this, they know what they are going to be up against.”

“They know what they need to do to put up the right game for challenges such as this, especially for Suva.”

Matawalu knows that Suva will be the favorites in this opener and will not let the Farebrother trophy move away from Talenavuruvuru.

“We have a lot of confidence in our coaches and our players and we are looking forward to a good game.”

Both teams have been preparing around the clock throughout the pre-season and both are expecting an intense battle in the showdown.

Suva should stick to the tried and the tested who brought glory the capital last year.

Relying on overseas-based reps or 7s reps could backfire as they could face a baptism of fire on Saturday. As for other teams, this Saturday is the time to get the ball rolling as one of them will either face Nadroga or Suva next week for the double –header.

Fans can’t afford to miss the winner takes ALL clash and action starts Saturday.
