6-year-old Mohammed Moshin of Lautoka was today the Champion of the Day at the Just Play kids programme organised by the Fiji Football Association.

The Just Play programme was held at the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament at Lautoka’s Churchill Park.

Moshin was not about to let anything get in his way as he joined more than 80 other children at the programme to learn football skills from specialist football trainers.

Moshin, who survived a house fire at a very young age, showcased his skills much to the admiration of football administrators.

FFA President Rajesh Patel and Head Coach Flemming Serritslev were among those in awe of Moshin’s sheer grit and determination.

Mr. Patel said: “Every child here today was outstanding, and I’m grateful to parents and guardians who brought them along this morning to learn football. I’m especially delighted with the number of girls who here. We are committed to increasing the participation of girls and women at all levels of our game.”

Mr Patel also paid tribute to young Moshin, who is now a Young Ambassador of the Fiji Football Association. He and his guardian have lifetime access to all FFA sanctioned events – including tournaments and the League.

“He exemplifies the spirit of our game. Football is for everyone. All one needs is the desire to play this beautiful game. We look forward to working with young Moshin and enhancing his love for football.”
