Two sisters from Nailaga, Ba invested $35,000 to open their second Spa. This one in Lautoka. Pritika Kumari, 25, and Priya Kumari, 28, directors of P&P Touch of Beauty Spa, had their Spa officially opened by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Praveen Bala, at Mana Street in Lautoka yesterday. Gaining support and motivation from their parents was what led the two to open their first Priya and Priti’s Style and Smile Salon in Ba six years ago. As the business grew, the sisters were encouraged to open a second one for the people of Lautoka.

Speaking to SunBiz, Ms Pritika said it was an initial plan for them to open a spa of their own after completing their six months course at Pivot Point. “While in Ba, we were doing our course for six months at Pivot Point, and we thought of doing something new, and we had an interest of starting our own Spa together,” she said.

Challenges and plans
“We endured a lot of challenges, we struggled a lot, but we are grateful to our parents for supporting us throughout our journey when we began this business venture.” She said there were plans to open a Spa in Nadi by mid next year, and more outlets in the future.

Their father, Mukesh Prasad, said it was a proud moment for the family. “I am very proud of them. One day they told me ‘dad, we want to have our own salon. My job as their father was to put a smile on their faces, and help them accomplish their goal,” he said.

Mr Bala in his address said despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the sisters had the courage to expand their business. “As far as the ministry is concerned, we also train young people in this field. We can also assist you in providing funds to train people, because we need to up skill ourselves,” said Mr Bala.

The opening hours for the Spa are from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday.
