After a delay of four months, Sosha Lounge along Carnarvon street in Suva is finally open to members of the public.

More than 50 guests turned up to the opening event on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

The investment cost for the premises was approximately $360,000.

Minister of Education, Heritage and Arts, Rosy Akbar, officiated at the opening.

She told guests that investing in a business during the global COVID-19 pandemic was a very bold step.

The lounge has a unique setup for people to socialise and de-stress.

Managing director, Ranjeeta Mishra, said the Sosha Lounge was her dream project.

“I was not prepared for the impact of COVID-19 on my business; however, it taught us a lesson,” she said.

Ms Mishra thanked the Fiji Government for working together with nightclub operators to give her an opportunity to open the Sosha Lounge.

She said: “Starting a business, especially one that offers a unique way to socialise and enjoy each other’s company, could be considered crazy at this time.

“However my team and I believe that fortune favours the brave.

Exclusive

It is an exclusive lounge and has a separate Shisha bar, she said.

Opening hours are from 4pm to 10pm, on Tuesdays to Sundays, and happy hour is from 4pm to 7pm.

The lounge can also cater for a variety of events such as cocktails, Christmas parties, wine tasting exhibition and fashion shows.

“This would be the place for parties, wine departments and friends to host a private event, she said.

Booking fees have been waivered for the first three months for events, Ms Mishra said.
